10 reviews for Razer Basilisk Ultimate Wireless Gaming Mouse with Charging Dock

5.0 Rating
1-5 of 10 reviews
  1. Comfortable and feels like good quality but not too heavy. The clicks are louder than my old mouse which I’m really not a fan of but its not a big deal. The charging dock is convenient and looks nice aswell with rgb lighting. It does need to be plugged into your computer so make sure your USB port has power all the time if you don’t leave your computer on. My USB wall outlet wouldnt work. When charging, the dock and mouse will light up red, orange, yellow, or green depending on your battery percentage. Some people may not like that as it wont match your other rgb items. It does say 11 programable buttons but that’s a stretch. After your left/right click and scroll up/down you’re left with 8 buttons on top and 1 on the bottom of the mouse. It should still be enough for most people but if you need more buttons check out a Naga. Was on sale for 125 with the charging dock and so far I feel it’s worth every penny.

  2. Like many others, I was drawn to this mouse due to its close resemblance to the Logitech G502. I was a G502 Proteus Spectrum user for over 3 years and I always swore by this mouse. Surprisingly, I evaded many of the horrific double-clicking issues until just recently. After reading many reviews on this mouse and the refreshed “Hero” edition, I realized that this problem was a lot more common than I had personally experienced. When my G502 started double clicking, I just could not stand to use it anymore. I mainly play FPS games, and this is a very frustrating issue when you have to ADS. I found out that this razer mouse was very similar to the G502 in both ergonomics and functionality (especially with the included sniper paddle that mimics the thumb button on G502). After plugging in the basilisk it is undoubtedly the better mouse. Zero latency, wireless, even more lightweight, and optical switches which essentially eliminate the possibility of dreaded double-clicking. Logitech is losing their touch (literally) with their rampant Quality control issues. I was debating getting the G502 lightspeed instead, but why on earth would anyone pay over $140 for a wireless version of a mouse when it has the SAME EXACT DOUBLE CLICK ISSUES. Get the Basilisk Ultimate. Its a no brainer.

  3. I compared this mouse to the Steelseries Rival 3, Viper mini, Logitech G Pro, Logitech G502, Logitech G502 Lightspeed.

This mouse wins for comfort and stability/precision for value. It’s not the best looking, it’s not the lightest, but it works the best for what you pay. Especially when you compare it to the newer V3 pro, which is $160 retail. Also, the cable is very good, one of the best I’ve ever used, so I keep it plugged in a lot of the time.

    Why I chose this mouse:

    1) Ergonomic fit. The thumb rest on the left side makes using this mouse so much better for both gaming and regular use. it’s a must have.
    2) Weight. It’s a nice Goldilocks option, at 107g. Lighter than the Logitech G502 (120 g), not as light as the Viper mini (61g) , Steelseries Rival 3 (77g) , Logitech G Pro (80g). Personally, I don’t like ultralight mice because they don’t feel stable. I like stability/precision for FPS, which the Basilisk Ultimate is the best for IMO.

  4. Initial impression is quite positive. I’m coming from a Logitech G 903. This mouse, the basilisk ultimate, is a satisfying weight. Lighter than Logitech offerings. Performance is great, smooth and reliable. Love the paddle. Very comfy mouse to use. An upgrade in every way over the G903.

Battery life is as advertised. Fantastic. For all that it offers and how it performs, this is great to get 100 hours. The dock is also surprisingly great plugged into my usb outlet. Let’s me charge the mouse whenever I’m away from my computer even if computer is powered off. Has a sticky/squishy rubberized bottom. Works great on my aluminum and glass surfaces to really keep the dock in one place. Not sure if it could stain wood and doubt it works well on any fabrics or irregular surfaces requires some effort to lift or move it once I stick it down good.

I think this will be my favorite mouse for a while.

The only ‘con’ is the price, which I feel really should be adjusted to $150 or below. Sort feel like I’m being charged extra over competition because they’ve really outclassed anything that used to sit in the price bracket. I don’t think I’m a fan of prices of a computer mouse creeping up to nearly $200 USD with taxes…. you can buy very cheap computers or even mediocre graphics cards and stuff for the price of this mouse. Anyways, disposable income clearly a requirement that limits who might be interested in the mouse.

  5. I had a Logitech G502 Lightspeed I picked up in January to replace my Roccat Leadr. I tried to like that mouse, I really did, but I couldn’t stand the software, the smaller footprint, and the poor battery life. At the time, I really was considering the Basilisk Ultimate too, but shied away due to Logitech’s reputation.

I ended up getting the Basilisk when it was like 40% off, and have to say that I’m so thoroughly impressed that I’m sorry I didn’t go with Razer much earlier. I love this mouse – the buttons are a sturdy click, the mouse is wide enough that my hand doesn’t fall off and drag, and the software is so much easier to program than Logitech’s.

Additionally, Razer Chroma is a decent piece of software, but what makes it better is that the Razer devices are so configurable. AND, as far as the RGB goes, Razer Chroma integrates with so many other manufacturers that it makes Razer much more attractive.

When I replace my next devices (keyboards, mouse pads, headsets, etc), I will be looking at Razer FIRST.
